Packets to Personnel tracked by unique device

The recent rise in concerns about the safeguarding of valuable assets, including highly confidential data in CD or paper form, has escaped no-one's attention.

For Circuitree based in the North East of England, it has led to a substantial increase in demand for the innovative asset management and tracking systems it has developed.

Circuitree has a team with extensive knowledge, experience and expertise at the leading edge of electronic design and development.  It is now designing, building and supporting solutions to locate and monitor a wide range of assets, goods and items in transit.

The unique asset tracking security device developed by the highly innovative company is expected to become a world leader. It has demonstrated such potential within a huge range of industries and sectors that organisations involved in activities ranging from local government, policing and heritage to plant hire, transport and fast-moving consumer goods are all turning to Circuitree.

"In the current climate, we are experiencing a huge upsurge of interest," said Circuitree Managing Director Dr Craig Robinson.   "Obviously, organisations are now even more aware of the serious effect it can have when small items such as CDs containing very sensitive data or documents go missing. Our technology has the capability to track these items as effectively as it can track an item as large as a shipping container."

Tracking and asset management technology can be split into two categories - RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and real time location based technologies using Global Positioning (GPS) technology.   Both have a place in today's market; RFID is excellent for covering the low-cost management of items in supply chains where day to day movements need to be managed as in stock control.

However, for situations where assets such as documents, equipment and people need to be located or monitored regularly and RFID historic data is not sufficient, a real time GPS location-based solution is needed.

"Our technology has moved the asset management industry on to the next stage of its development," says Dr Robinson "and uses the latest positioning technology to give senior managers vastly improved visibility and the potential to make substantial efficiency savings."

The Circuitree technology offers benefits that include global coverage, reliability, endurance - with anything up to 10 years battery life - and a comprehensive service that covers business consulting, solution design and system support.

"Our technology means that solutions are no longer limited to large items with space for big batteries," explained Dr Robinson, "so items as small as CDs containing very sensitive data can be tracked.  Circuitree's miniaturised product has a long battery life so it can unobtrusively monitor high value assets over long periods."

The company uses its state-of-the-art technology to design and build solutions for clients so that they can have a bespoke real-time location service and provides support and monitoring services.  From the smallest of items such as a document to major items of equipment or transport, it can deliver a system that will provide relevant, up to date locations on demand.

"This is a highly competitive market but we are 100% confident that our products provide a high level of functionality and reliability compared to other solutions already on the market," said Dr Robinson.

"Our systems are more flexible and intelligent with the ability to sense and understand their environment and perform really well in low signal strength environments such as indoors or within a vehicle.  They are a small size with all components in a single unit and, crucially, they have low power consumption with exceptionally long life from compact batteries.

"It is these advantages that is allowing Circuitree to engage markets not currently well serviced and to branch into brand new markets."
